Why Has My Car Key Stopped Working?

Copied Keys Are Less Accurate

If your car uses a traditional key, a copy of the original key could be the issue.  Each time a key is copied, it changes just slightly from the key it was copied from.  If this is done a few times, the key can be quite different from the original.  You may find that your original keys still work fine, but your copied keys do not.  That is most likely the reason.

Batteries in the Key Fob Need Replaced

If you have a key fob, it is possible that the batteries are dying and can no longer unlock your car doors.  Try replacing the battery.  You can rule out the possibility of the problem being the key fob batteries if replacing them doesn’t help.

Your Ignition Cylinder May Be Faulty

Just as it is with other parts that wear out, it is possible for your ignition cylinder to wear out too.  If this is the problem, your Dubai locksmith can assess what the actual problem is with the cylinder, and advise you as to whether it needs replaced, or if it can be repaired.

Your Car Battery May Be Low
